The Cross River government has said that henceforth any child found roaming the streets or any public centre in the Calabar metropolis would be arrested.

Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr Rekpene Bassey, in a statement at the weekend, lamented that children are always seen on major streets in the state capital such as Goldie, Mary Slessor, Calabar Road, etc and that most times, they are engaged in pick pocketing, bags snatching etc.

He therefore called on parents to watch over their children and ensure that they are not left to roam the streets. He warned that any child caught would be taken to a welfare home.
