The Child Law Resources (CLR) is a comprehensive database to be published in September 2013 on the legal and policy framework concerning children in Africa. Among other things, the CLR will contain international and regional instruments related to children, domestic laws and policies of all African countries related to children, State Party reports submitted to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, and the Concluding Recommendations and Concluding Observations from the two committees respectively. The CLR will also provide key publications on children and the law in Africa and thematic summaries of harmonisation of laws on children, which will provide users with quick up-to-date references to the current legal framework on children in Africa.

The CLR will serve as a useful resource to both governments and non-governmental stakeholders in their work on child rights and wellbeing, and will further inform the work of the treaty bodies, as they monitor progress on the promotion and protection of child rights by States Parties.
