DAR ES SALAAM, 3 August 2016 – The government has filed a notice of appeal against the High Court decision to strike out all provisions in the Law of Marriage Act, 1971, which allow a girl under 18 years old to get married with her parent's consent.
12 July 2016 – The practice of child marriage adversely affects the lives of millions of girls in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. However, despite widespread condemnation and laws against the practice, child marriage is the terrible fate that many young girls face across the world.
